Resume operations fast with Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS)
ECOLOR replicates your servers and workloads to a secondary site. If your primary site fails, you fail over and keep running, then fail back once it is restored — all against clear RTO/RPO targets.
A pay-as-you-go alternative to building and maintaining your own second data center. ECOLOR designs the topology, manages failover, and runs the DR tests.
- Managed failover & failback
- Defined RTO/RPO
- Regular DR tests

What is DRaaS?
Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS) is a managed service in which ECOLOR continuously replicates your servers and workloads to a secondary cloud site, so that if your primary site fails you can fail over to the secondary site and keep operating, then fail back to your original site once it is restored.
The service provides defined Recovery Time Objectives (RTO) and Recovery Point Objectives (RPO) per workload, managed failover and failback, and regular DR testing. It is a pay-as-you-go alternative to building, running, and maintaining your own second data center.
DRaaS complements backup rather than replacing it: backup restores your data, while DRaaS resumes your operations fast. In Saudi Arabia, the location of your replication target also matters because of data-residency considerations.
- Continuous replication to a secondary DR site
- Defined RTO/RPO per workload
- Fully managed failover and failback
- Regular, non-disruptive DR testing
- In-Kingdom or cloud replication-target options
How DRaaS works for you
Replicate to a second site
We create a continuous replica of your servers and workloads in a separate DR site, ready to take over.
Fast failover
When the primary site fails, workloads switch to the DR site so you resume operations within the agreed RTO.
Failback when restored
Once your original site is repaired, we move workloads back to it in a controlled, managed way.
RTO/RPO targets
For each workload we define the maximum tolerable downtime and data loss, then design the solution to meet them.
Tested regularly
We run periodic failover tests to confirm the recovery plan is ready before a real incident occurs.
Pay-as-you-go DR
You get recovery capability without the cost of building and running a full second data center.
DRaaS vs backup
| Backup | DRaaS | |||
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Purpose | Restore data | Resume operations | ||
| Speed | Slower (restore) | Fast (failover) | ||
| Covers | Files/systems | Whole workloads | ||
| Testing | Restore test | Failover test |
They complement each other — most businesses need both.
How ECOLOR delivers DRaaS
- Assess critical workloads
We identify the systems and applications most important to your continuity and prioritize their recovery.
- Set RTO/RPO
We define recovery-time and recovery-point objectives per workload, balancing risk against cost.
- Set up replication
We design the replication topology and configure the target — cloud or in-Kingdom — to your requirements.
- Test failover/failback
We run non-disruptive DR tests to confirm that failover and failback work exactly as planned.
- Monitor & maintain
We continuously monitor replication and update the plan as your IT environment changes.
How DRaaS works
What you need
- List of critical workloads
- Target RTO/RPO
- Replication target (cloud / in-Kingdom)
- A DR test schedule
Do not have these yet? ECOLOR helps you define them in a business-continuity assessment.
Saudi deployment notes & limits
The replication-target location matters: in Saudi Arabia some data may require an in-Kingdom target for data-residency reasons, while other workloads suit a cloud target. ECOLOR advises on the right choice per workload, without guaranteeing regulatory compliance.
RTO/RPO drive cost: the shorter the required recovery time or the less data you can tolerate losing, the more the solution costs. That is why we right-size the solution per workload rather than applying a single target to everything.
Non-disruptive testing is essential: we run failover tests without affecting live production, because an untested recovery plan may not work when you need it. We do not guarantee zero data loss; instead we design around agreed RTO/RPO targets.
