Why do you need Microsoft 365 backup?

Because Microsoft protects the service, and you protect the data. Under Microsoft’s shared responsibility model, Microsoft guarantees infrastructure uptime and service availability, but protecting and recovering your data is your responsibility as the customer. Native retention and recycle-bin are limited and time-boxed — they are not a backup.

Shared responsibility means data recovery is on you, not Microsoft. That is precisely why a dedicated backup is the real safety net against accidental deletion, ransomware and expiring native retention — Microsoft’s uptime guarantee does not restore your lost content.

Retention and leaver policies are set to fit your organisation. We configure how long data is kept and retain departed employees’ mailboxes even after their licences are removed, so knowledge and records are not lost when people leave.

The backup-target region is configurable. Where data residency matters, we can discuss keeping the backup within a defined region, including an in-Kingdom option, to align with your data-residency requirements.
