3CX × Freshdesk
Connect 3CX with Freshdesk in Saudi Arabia
A native integration between the 3CX phone system and the Freshdesk helpdesk: the caller’s ticket pops on the agent’s screen as the phone rings, agents dial from inside Freshdesk with Click2Call, and every call is logged to the ticket automatically.
Configured by the ECOLOR Technologies technical team with +966/E.164 number normalization, Arabic contact-name display, and clear call-to-ticket versus note logic.

What is the 3CX Freshdesk integration?
The 3CX Freshdesk integration is a native link between the 3CX phone system and the Freshdesk helpdesk that matches the caller’s number against Freshdesk contacts, screen-pops the matching contact or ticket on the agent’s screen when the phone rings or is answered, and logs the call to the ticket. It is a helpdesk (ticketing) integration, not a standalone phone product.
When a call comes in, 3CX looks the number up in Freshdesk. If it finds a match, the agent sees the contact or open ticket before they even pick up, so the conversation starts with the customer’s identity and history already on screen. After the call ends, it is logged automatically as a note on the ticket or as a new ticket — for answered and missed calls, inbound and outbound.
The screen-pop is delivered through the 3CX browser extension for Chrome and Edge, or through the 3CX web client. The API link itself is configured once, server-side, in the 3CX Admin Console, so agents do not each need manual setup. The integration is available on the 3CX PRO and Enterprise editions.
- Caller ID from Freshdesk before the agent answers
- Automatic pop of the customer’s ticket or contact
- Click2Call outbound dialing from inside Freshdesk
- Every call logged to the ticket (answered and missed)
- Optional auto-create of a Freshdesk contact or ticket for unknown callers
What the integration does
Caller ID from Freshdesk
Matches the incoming number against Freshdesk contacts and shows the customer’s name and details before the agent answers.
Ticket screen-pop
Automatically opens the matching Freshdesk contact or ticket on the agent’s screen when the phone rings or is answered.
Click2Call
Dial any number straight from inside Freshdesk with a single click via 3CX — no manual keying.
Call logged to tickets
Every call is journaled automatically as a note on the ticket or as a new ticket — answered and missed, inbound and outbound.
Auto-create contact/ticket
Optionally create a Freshdesk contact or ticket automatically for unknown callers, so no inquiry is lost.
Central setup
The API key and Freshdesk domain are set once server-side in the 3CX Admin Console for all agents.

How ECOLOR sets it up
- Assess
We review your 3CX edition (PRO/Enterprise), your Freshdesk structure, the required call flow, and your ticket-creation policy.
- Connect API/domain
We configure the Freshdesk template in the 3CX Admin Console (Integrations → CRM) with the API key and Freshdesk domain, server-side.
- Number matching (+966/E.164)
We set up Saudi number normalization (05x and +9665XXXXXXXX) with exact/partial matching so callers are recognized reliably.
- Ticket logging rules
We define when a new ticket is created versus when the call is added as a note, and map the call outcome to ticket fields.
- Test & handover
We test caller ID, screen-pop, Click2Call, and logging, then hand over with documentation and agent training.
Call-to-ticket flow
What you need before you start
- 3CX PRO or Enterprise edition
- Freshdesk admin access, API key, and account domain
- 3CX browser extension (Chrome/Edge) or web client on agent machines
- Customer numbers in a consistent format, or approval for +966/E.164 normalization
- A decision on ticket policy (new ticket vs. note on an existing ticket)
No extra software is needed on agent machines beyond the browser; the API link is configured centrally, once.
Saudi deployment notes & limits
Saudi numbers are typically entered in different formats (05XXXXXXXX locally or +9665XXXXXXXX internationally). ECOLOR configures number normalization with exact and partial matching in E.164 so 3CX matches the caller to the correct Freshdesk contact regardless of how the number was entered, and displays the contact name in Arabic where relevant.
We define the ticket-versus-note logic: should a new Freshdesk ticket be created for every call, or should the call be appended as a note on the contact’s existing open ticket? We map the call outcome (answered / missed / outbound) to ticket fields for cleaner reporting and to avoid duplicate tickets.
The native integration logs calls and pops tickets, but it does not run bulk outbound campaigns or automated mass dialing. When you need high-volume outbound or sales/collections campaigns, that is where ECOLOR-developed AutoConnect (which is not a native 3CX feature) comes in as a separate layer alongside this integration.
